I'd love to have the last 5 seasons of driver and track statistics in some organized format - such as a text file, or even a database file(s). All I can find are lots of statistic sites that I query online. I want to create my own reports based off of original source data.

This one is pretty good but the statistics part of their site is having a problem at the moment

... You can also try here

The site racefan gave is an excellent site

... As far as getting statistics in a text format good luck. You might try setting you browser up to only surf the web with text format only and see if you access NASCAR.COM (or other sites) in a text only format without active x, java, script, flash, or images being displayed. You also might try a text based web browser. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_(web_browser)

... Try to copy and paste the charts into Wordpad. It will be text then.

... I tried to copy and paste the charts into Wordpad and it worked. What you do is save it as a "text document" instead of "RTF" (rich text format) and it will remove the chart boundaries leaving you with only the text. You can then copy and paste and arrange that info how you want it. It isn't exactly what you asked for but it is something you can still work with.

... Something you might consider when compiling your information is a free software called IMS Web Dwarf http://www.virtualmechanics.com/products/dwarf/ . This software allows you to create html pages (web pages) and you can enter text and drag it arround without having to retype it into another text file. It is real usefull in creating web sites and getting things organized. Once you get you information in order you can preview the web page and then save it to the desktop (or where ever)

the ultimate NASCAR author is Peter Golenbock.. His books have taught me extra about about the heritage of NASCAR than i have realized as a fan that observed the pastime heavily for over fifty years.. He began as a events author, writing about stick, and ball events.. He began writing about NASCAR as an project, and in his first NASCAR e book starts off with what he experienced at his first NASCAR race.. The Daytona 500.. and how he grow to be actual astounded via what he pronounced, and how he grow to be hooked that prompt.. His description of how he felt the first time he walked into Daytona, should be examine via each body of you.. it truly is the first actual pages of his e book "American Zoom", and what he says is an identical difficulty i think anytime i pass there.. i'm constructive this e book is reliable, yet in case you extremely opt to entice close who reported what about who, and what they did about it, Peter Golenbock is what you should envision.. he's were given the "scoop"..
