Why are NASCAR teams so stingy to loyal fans with freebies like stickers,key chains,etc?

I'm a huge fan of Dale Jr. and a fan club member of Dale Jr racing and hendrick motor sports. I have e-mailed and called both to see if they have any fan packages they can send out with freebies like stickers,key chains or any other small items. Well, to my surprise they both were very short with the answer of NO, we don't do that kind of thing! Now how is that for fan friendly. I support the team all season long, purchasing stuff from the sponsors of the 88 team and wearing #88/Hendrick apparel out in town and to every race. The whole thing just put a bad taste in my mouth, I was treated not like a fan, but some low-life who does'nt have the big bucks and the above track suite.

NASCAR is a very generous sport and I think most NASCAR drivers and teams want to support us as much as we support them. I can't imagine the teams just giving stuff away there are millions of fans and we all want freebies, there is no possible way they can make us all happy or give every fan some freebies. I am sorry you felt dissed but if you spend the few bucks to join a fan club you will get your money back times 2 in rewards, free stuff and discounted items. Good luck!

If you want free stuff the best bet is the sponsors themselves. I've gotten tons of free stuff (t-shirts, hats, stickers) from the National Guard at show car appearances and at the track. The most the teams are going to give out is an 8x10 card with a driver's picture on the front and driver info on the back. And also Chevy will give out a Team Chevy sticker with a Chevy driver's name on it for free as well.

Quit being a cheapskate and pay the 34.99 membership! You get a tshirt, keychain autographed photo and whatever else they have available at the time....I always get a great package and discounts at the merchandise trailers and online stores for the year....PLUS quite often that bumps you into the autograph lines at the races!!!!!!!



additional: no disrespect intended, atomic, but i respectfully disagree. Nascar drivers are the most generous guys in sports and are also the most available. They pay people to govern those fan clubs and the merchandise isn't free to them. I have met almost every driver in the regular line up and several other past and up and coming drivers.......I Love Nascar!!!

If you go to the track there are tons of freebies, we live near a tack and even if we don't have tickets i take my son to the track to buy diecast cars, and he comes home with a bag full of freebies...

That is amazing especially considering who you're talking about. I get free stuff every couple months from favorite bands like 311 and racers like Melanie Troxel whom have a third the dough. Not good for a loyal fan. I'd spit that taste out immediately. But that's just me.

because nascar is all about the money not racing, if they would just shut up and race we would actually have a good race, nascar needs to go back to the 50's were it wasn't about money
