Question:
What was the deal with the 17 car passing the leader on the re-start, before the start/finish line?

what did you think when the 2 car was the leader on the re-start and they showed the re-play, with Matt Kenseth going across the start/finish line ahead of Brad. The give penalties for everything else. Were you surprised NASCAR didn't do anything to the 17 car?

Here's NASCAR's explenation. http://www.jayski.com/cupnews.htm

They said Kesolowski didn't "mash the gas" when he was supposed to. So in other words, Kenseth didn't jump the start but rather Kesowlowski didn't go when it was time.

I was actually really confused about that at the time, he did it like what 2 times? they did have a really good race battling for the 1st place and in reality that what fans like to watch but NASCAR knew that and if they penalized kenseth for jumping the start which he was, it would have been a boring finish because Kenseth was the only one that could challenge brad kesowlowski, and he would have just pulled away. Just my take.

So the mighty Mopar may have bogged when Brad mashed the pedal? Say it ain't so!! Just messing with ya! I like them both and I'm cool with the no-call and the ball/strike judgement call explanation. I don't find it to be an excuse. And Brad's cool with it too.

There is always some gamesmanship going on at re-starts. At the Vegas race you mention, Stewart complained loudly to NASCAR over the radio about those guys "laying back" trying to get a run on him at the re-start. They all need to get every inch they can.

Like you say, it's not a big deal and we shall see how it all shakes out. I'm glad to see them both doing well, and it will be interesting!

Nothing to penalize...

My question is if Matt crossed and won legally...what will NASCAR do?? Nothing??? I am sure Kez will keep the win but I wonder what the Kenseth Camp is saying all about this and I can't find anything.

He should have went to the rear of the longest line but Nascar always has an excuse for it's favorite drivers.

not sure which restart you are referring to, but NASCAR will go easy on a driver if they give the advantage right back. Maybe that happened?

There was probably also a verbal warning over the radio.

It seemed a little wrong to me too...but NASCAR dishes penalties out according to what mood they are in I suppose...Brad won anyway and I say good for him! He is one tough young driver, very special...

He is moving up in the points.

I wasn't REAL surprised. As a Kenseth fan, I was relieved. I didn't think that particular situation deserved a penalty. And I would've said the same thing regardless of who was involved.

Definitely surprised,as anyone could see the restart and see who beat who.Nascar lets some cheat and penalizes others.

Just goes to show NASCAR's inconsistent and arbitrary practices of applying the rules to whoever they like.

Fluffy go find a picture of Brad K. and spank your monkey to his anus, screaming "do another doughnut on my dong again Brad skeet skeet skeet..."
