My husband told me it meant
Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Red Necks.

I don't think I believe him, although he is a red neck...

That's an old one but every time I hear that I laugh. Others have said what it really stands for so I won't repeat it.



Now days though the drivers aren't that redneck nor are the cars stock or just in north america, so neither meaning is true.



Maybe it should be changed to NAASC

LOL...I like your husband's definition, though I doubt the pretty boys riding in those cars are really rednecks. The acronym actually stands for National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing.



And since I'm not a redneck I prefer to refer to it as NASSCAR...and I believe no explanation is necessary.
