Question:
Do you feel that if Carl Edwards were going to sign with Roush he would go ahead and announce it?

NASCAR.com has an article that hints Edwards has decided on whether to re-sign with Roush or go with Joe Gibbs Racing. I feel that if he goes back to Roush he should announce to end the speculation, so the longer he holds out the more I feel that JGR is his choice. I heard Sunday that Ford Motor Company is going to unprecedented measures to lure him back to the 99 including making him a spokesman for Ford and things that could make him a Ford driver as long as his career lasts (similar to Jeff Gordon's deal with HMS).

What he said is that he wants to focus on winning the Championship this year but he's going to be asked every week, and if he announces he's going to JGR he'll be asked every week about that. He said he doesn't want to announce anything until a contract is signed. You'd think if he was going to sign with JGR that someone would have spotted him and taken a picture of him talking with Joe Gibbs unless it's all been over the phone if he has talked with Joe Gibbs.

Not necessarily. This is how negotiation works. Carl is looking for the best possible deal.

when the negotiations are done and who ever offers him the oversized paycheck to match his oversized ego...THEN he will sign the contract and announce it.
