This can be a rule, a track, cautions?, anything that really drives you nuts. Basically your NASCAR 'pet peeve'

When they come back from a commercial and there has been a caution and the leaders had already pitted. Seems like there is a caution like every 4th commercial. Oh yeah, listening to Larry Mac & DW praise a driver running 25th a lap down will drive anyone nuts.
And like at the last race in the Nationwide race in Chicagoland when they interviewed Danica Patrick first before all drivers at the end of the race and she finished 24th. That interview is not deserved. 24th in a NNS race, whoopty do.

any and everything about Darrell Waltrip! when he was a driver he tried to sue dale sr and know he talks about him like they were old frat. brothers. he was also a huge cry baby when wrecked but had no problem putting no one else in the wall! and that boogity boogity $hit makes my skin crawl! good question cuz im getting upset now just thinking about him!

How many caution laps have to be run even thought the track has been cleared. It's a waste of real race time.

when they come back from a commercial break, while the race is still on green and then go to another commercial break.

how long cautions are, how if the drivers have a bad day, they just walk away and dont have a real interview, i hate that, like jimmy spencer said, the fans deserve more than that, start and parks, cant believe no one mentioned start and parks, i hate those to, dont even want to get started on those, why would a team even want to do that? the top 35 rule is kinda retarded they should do like the top 20 or something no 35 because we have slow cars that make the show and fast cars that miss it because of that

Wow, I could type for an hour answering this question. So I'll choose just one thing for today. I get peeved at the notion that some of the races are boring. 43 very fast vehicles on one track having a race. It does not have the potential to become boring. Not once, not ever, period.
2010-07-15 18:57:57 UTC
Provisional Starters. It should be the 43 fastest. Every other racing organization starts the cars that qualify, not some one who has points, or last years winner, or last years whiner.
Nascar is doing its best to advertise and attract fans, but unfortunately they think they have to appease the big money sponsors.
The fact that people doubt about the restarts for "debris" means there is a problem, and nascar should address it. Granted, there will always be complainers, but I see it as dissent. It will quiet down but what about the next time?
I am seeing empty seats at the races on tv, yes the economy is bad, I have not had a regular job in 18 months, but my kids are grown up and I can retire. But when the economy does come back I wonder if all the fans will come back with it? any body agree or disagree?

Rule: the no racing back to the line should be tweaked. if the caution comes out ont the last lap, race back to the checkered flag
Track: Fontana
Caution(s): phantom cautions and cautions at Daytona and Talladega for a wreck exiting turn 2 while the leader is on the backstretch on the last lap

Silky 212 I love your answer and I agree 100% DW gets on my last nerve. I hate debris caution or phantom cautions whatever you want to call them.. Back in the day heck officials would look both ways and run out there and pick it up, if it could be done quickly, and yep NO caution flag. My dad did this a couple times back in the 60's and 70's, as long as it was small and in one piece.. Don't even get me started on the Lucky Dog, they never needed it back in the day, real men could drive there way back to the lead lap, no lucky mutt needed.
Go Dale Jr..Bring it on in 2010

It has always bothered me that the one time the drivers attempted to establish a driver's union, the entire plan was shot down by one or all of the France family. I realize that they want their NASCAR to be the "only circus in town", but the drivers have no choice...they are either a NASCAR driver or they probably won't drive at all (I am sure the France family would see to that) anywhere. They have no protection from the "Corporate NASCAR", I cannot think of any other big business that forbids their workers from having representation. Thanks for allowing me to get this off my mind.

1. Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s popularity (He is a washed up has-been)
2. Auto Club Speedway (Zzzzzz...)
3. The Chase races being unchanged, might as well engrave Johnson's name in the trophy every year until they change up the tracks.

should a caution really be thrown for a single or double car spin that does not result in a crash and both cars can continue w/out being in harms way?
cautions for a water bottle or a piece of foam on the track.
ghost cautions........unless the field is so stretched out that the leader has an 8 sec lead over second place.(michigan, fontana)

The Cup schedule. A month between Sunday races is just plain dumb and why this week off before Indy. Way to many Sat. night races and did you notice we have another coming up on 9/11. To me that should be a date for National mourning.

I get tired of them talking only about certain drivers all the time, come on there are 43 cars out there, but the way they talk you'd think there were only 4 or 5.
RabibRob has a good point too, I forgot about that.

I hate when NASCAR says no more racing back to the yellow, because it's too dangerous, but three green, white, checker double file restarts after the race is over is just fine (BS).. I hate the "lucky dog".. I hate The Chase (post season? This is the only sport that cut into it's own season to have "post season".. The others did it to EXTEND their seasons.. duh.. As of now, Denny Hamlin would begin The Chase ahead of Jeff Gordon, and that's way past ridiculous..
I hate when "fans" that haven't been around very long, and won't be around much longer tell me how racing should be done.. Go change football, or baseball, or something.. Those sports would laugh at that kind of criticism.. Tell baseball fans that the batter should have four strikes, and only three balls.. See what you get get in return, or tell football fans that two downs are enough.. lol I would love to eaves drop on that conversation..
BTW, I HATE the word HATE..

I'm going to be honest and say Dale Jr fans. It's no fun at all going to a race when 75% are pulling for one driver. I'm looking forward to him retiring, so the fans will be more sporadic. Going to a Nascar race feels like going to Yankee Stadium and being a Red Sox fan.
Also I hate the wave arounds and phanton cautions.
